Nutrition
"All that man needs for health and healing has been provided by God in nature, the
challenge of science is to find it."
Paracelsus (1493-1541)
It is no mystery that nutrients are essential to life.   What has been a mystery, though, is the
possibility of obtaining all the nutrients we need from our foods.  The decrease of nutrients
in our foods has been proven.  For scientific data, please read
this article .  Denying that
our food is less nutritious than it was in the 1950's is like denying space travel is possible.

Most of us understand that we need to take eat raw fruits and vegetables, and that we need
to supplement our diets with vitamins, minerals and other required nutrients.   We notice that
one of the first things a woman does when she finds out she's pregnant is to take prenatal
vitamins, because she wants her baby to have a healthy start in life.  That healthy start,
however, fades if the body does not continue to receive the nutrients it needs.
Supplementing your diet with necessary  nutrients that your body can absorb
can mean the
difference between a high quality of life and a life plagued with illness or disorders.  The best
way to include the fruits and vegetables we need per day, can be as simple as including
these

Although you are aware that vitamins, minerals, amino acids (protein), and fatty acids are
essential for normal biological function, you may not be aware of the important role a group
of 8 simple sugars, called glyconutrients, play in every cell in our bodies.  In 1996 these
eight sugars were identified in human cell surface glycoforms that are involved in cellular
recognition processes.  We now know that nature uses the carbohydrates (sugars) on cell
surface glycoconjugates as communication/recognition molecules.  We now know that
carbohydrate molecules provide the most specific form of biological information for the code
of life.

The more we learn about glyconutrients, the more we realize that we need a steady supply
of them in our diets every day, because:

Glyconutrients may be the missing link between what we eat and what
our bodies need for optimal health!

"Recent scientific research has shown that eight simple dietary sugars (monosaccharides),
most of which are no longer found in abundance in the standard modern diet, are now
known to form the very words of life at the cellular level. These sugars combine with proteins
and fats to create glycoforms that coat the surface of virtually every cell in the body.
Glycoforms function as cellular recognition molecules that communicate the messages a
body needs to function in health."

The eight known sugars essential for properly-structured and functioning cells are:

  1. Fucose
  2. Galactose
  3. Glucose
  4. Mannose
  5. N-AcetylGalactosamine
  6. N-AcetylGlucosamine
  7. N-AcetylNeuraminic Acid
  8. Xylose

Unfortunately, only 2 of these are readily found in our diets, leaving the other 6 in a
perpetual state of deficiency.
